9 Syrian refugees, who arrived to Cyprus, turned out to be from the town of Mersin in Turkey. One of them was involved in the organization of illegal trips and got injured while trying to escape from police.
He is currently in the hospital, together with the second member of the group, who also has health problems. Some members of the group are fluent in Greek and according to the officials, they were previously working in Cyprus.
The arrest was made on Tuesday night in Kato Pyrgos. They are all charged with illegal presence in the Republic.
