The leader of the Turkish-Cypriots Mustafa Akinchi has expressed his resentment due to allocation of only 15 minutes for the meeting with the Vice-President of the European Commission.
Mr. Akinchi stated that in case if Mr. Valdis Dombrovskis is expecting to make such a short visit, he might as well not disturb him at all.
The EU officials are constantly visiting Cyprus and it was known well in advance that Mr. Dombrovskis is planning stay on the island for a few days.
Mr. Akinchi takes the issue of relationship with the EU and reunification of the island very seriously, and demands an equal attitude in return. He further considers the matter of such a short meeting to be unacceptable.
