International dancing centre Hallmark

Hallmark

“A dance is your pulse, the beating of your heart, your breathing. This is a rhythm of your life. This is expression in time and movement, in happiness, joy, sorrow and envy”.

Jacques D’Amboise

The International Dance Centre, Hallmark, was established in 2001 and is one of the first professional clubs in Cyprus. The dance club is a member of the Cypriot Federation of Sports and Ballroom Dancing and international organisations such as the World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF) and the International Dance Organisation (IDO)

Students of Hallmark have been champions and prize winners of both Cypriot and international tournaments and championships for many years, and dancers of the club represent the country at the European and World Championships.

Groups from the All Ladies category confirm their title of Cyprus’ Champions every year.

This International Dance Centre holds first place amongst Cypriot sports dancing clubs by the number of prizes and medals.

Sports are undoubtedly very important for both good physical and mental development of a child.

Ballroom dancing (sports, or sports ballroom dancing) include two programmes, one European and one Latin American, with each programme including several dances. The first group includes a Quick Step, a Fox Trot, a Slow Waltz, a Vienna Waltz and a Tango. The second group includes a Jive, a Rumba, the Cha-Cha-Cha, a Paso Doble and a Samba.

The advantages of going in for sports dancing

The arguments in favour of dancing include:

During the first year of classes the children learn the basic moves, the main choreographic positions of arms and legs and learn to listen to a musical rhythm.

During the second year the trainer finds partners for the children and they will start participating in competitions in the Beginners category. There is an All Ladies category for those girls without a dance partner.

Groups of varying ages attend the centre, but specialists believe that the best time to begin in the most popular category, the All Ladies, is around 5 or 6 years of age.

Dance club, Hallmark, aims to demonstrate not only good sports results and achievements, but also that children are both interested and love to dance.

You will be rewarded with all the hard work that goes into training, funding, and finding the right partner by so many wonderful moments to enjoy in this sport

A friendly, tightly knit team is very important and the trainers do their best to integrate the children, teaching them about teamwork and sportsmanship.

Feeling tired or strained after a hard day? Do you want to mix with other people, make new friends? Then come dancing, it’s a wonderful way to relax and unwind with good, simple physical activity and fiery, rhythmic music.

….and if dancing becomes your favourite hobby then you’re sure to get a lot of pleasure from it

The Hallmark club holds lessons for everyone in Salsa and Bachata, the most fiery of the Latin American dances. These dances are social in nature. Anyone can Salsa. All you need is a free hour in the evening and the desire to learn.

Come to the centre for classes – it will be fun, it will be interesting!
