Published list of foreign universities
Issued yesterday was the document entitled “The approved list of foreign educational institutions, which issue certificates of education and (or) qualifications, recognised in the Russian Federation”. The complete document is available on the Russian Federation’s website, with a list of universities in PDF format.
The list includes foreign educational organisations that were in the top 300 in the Academic Ranking of World Universities, Times Higher Education World University Rankings and QS World University Rankings simultaneously. They are not located in areas that are party to international treaties with the Russian Federation governing the recognition and equivalence of education obtained abroad. In total, it included 201 foreign educational organisations from 23 countries.
The list initially set out the qualification obtained in a foreign university with the corresponding one achieved in the Russian Federation. Education and qualifications obtained from foreign universities on the list will be recognised by the simplified scheme, without any additional procedures. Including the involvement of the Russian Federation, the list will include highly qualified specialists trained in leading educational centres (for example, Cambridge University, Munich Technical University, Trinity College Dublin, National University of Singapore, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, Kyoto University). Noteworthy is the fact that the list did not include any higher education institutions situated in Cyprus.
