“The Orchestra is the City” – concert in Nicosia

The Acropolis park in Nicosia will host the open-air concert “The Orchestra is the City“, which is organized by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra.

The Orchestra will resent the rich music programme which will suit any taste and/or age: musical tale, passionate tangos, popular classics and timeless Jazz standards.

Programme of the concert:

• Fr. POULENC: The story of Babar, the little elephant – musical tale Narrator: Petros Georgadjis;
• «In Tango rhythm» (works by Piazzolla, Salgan, Troilo, a.o.) Soloists:  Miodrag Djordjević, Nenad Ljubenović (accordion);
• Symphonic works by Handel, Haydn, Rossini, Bizet a.o. Conductor: Alkis Baltas;Charlie Parker with Strings
  The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra with jazz ensemble
  Soloists: Charis Ioannou (saxophone), Marios Toumbas (piano),
  Greg Makamian (double bass), Ioannis Vafeas (drums)
  Conductor: Yiannis Hadjiloizou
