The Italian Love – theatre play in Limassol

Limassol Rialto Theatre will present a comedy “The Italian Love” staged by People’s Artist of Russia Semyon Strugachev .

On a wonderful summer day a man goes to the beach to take a dip. And he does not know that after meeting a glamorous beauty, he will face the merciless and cruel fate.

The author of the play is an Italian playwright, laureate of theatre and literature prizes, famous for his comedy plays –  Aldo Nicolaj. By slightly modifying the storyline of Dante’s “Divine Comedy”, he has created a parody of the circles of hell, where he leads his hero through. From the colourful beach – to prison dungeons, from the injury clinic – to a madhouse. A charming “Beatriche” instead of being an inspirational guiding star, for whom the hero travelled to the underworld, appears on the stage as a predator, requesting complete dissolution in her and her desires …

The play is a powerful maelstrom of inevitable events, adventurous sketches and inconceivable paradoxes, romance and passion, detective and black humour! But as if this is not enough, the theatrical performance is abundantly flavoured with songs arranged by Yuliy Kim, and costumes of Evelina Bledans, created by best Russian and foreign couturiers.
