The 6th International Children’s Festival in Paphos

The 6th International Children’s Festival will be held in Paphos.

The festival will take place for the sixth time and every years, the main theme of the festival is different.

The first festival with the topic “Russia as kids see it” took place in the spring of 2012 with the aim to engage kids to learn about history and culture of Russia, getting to know the traditions and involving in the hand crafting. In the spring of 2013 the 2nd Festival was held with great success. The artistic efforts and imagination were united with a simple topic “I live in Cyprus”. The topic of the 3rd festival was “The Magical world”, which was held in May of 2014. In the year 2015, the festival’s topic was “The Kind Heart”, in the year 2016 the theme of the festival was “Friendship”.

This year, in view of the fact that Pafos became the cultural capital of Europe, the festival was named “Mosaic of Cultures”.

The framework of the festival will include two contests — literature and art. All kids aged from 6 up to 17 are encouraged to participate in these contests.

The Literature contest includes the following nominations:

• Prose;
• Poetry.

Art Contest:

• Paintings and drawings using acrylic paints, watercolors, pastels, tempera, oil paints, crayons, marker pens, etc.
• Works made of natural materials (leaves, straw, dried flowers, lint, etc.), applications, collages;
• Works made ​​of clay, plaster, plasticine, etc.;
• 3D works (models, creations made from any material, costumes, masks);
• Woodworking (carving, poker-work);
• Sculpture.

On the 7th of May 2016 The International School of Paphos will host the art exhibition, the award ceremony, the fund raising event and the Gala Concert.

The Festival is organized by the Cyprus-Russian Association of Pafos with the support of The International School of Pafos (ISOP), Russian Cultural Centre (Rossotrudnichestvo), Pafos Municipality, Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Pafos 2017 Committee.
