The Rialto theatre in Limassol will host the broadcast from the Royal National Theatre of the play written by Peter Morgan – “The Audience”.
After the death of her father George IV and the ascension to the throne on the 6th of February 1952, Queen Elizabeth II held the weekly Audiences in Buckingham Palace with each of the Prime Ministers. The contents of the discussion are kept strictly confidential, however “The Audience” will make an attempt to break this rule and will present the range of possible dialogues which Her Majesty had with each of the twelve Prime Ministers from Churchill to Cameron.
The role of Queen Elizabeth II will be played by Hellen Mirren, who won the Best Actor Oscar Award in 2008. The play is written by Peter Morgan, who is the scriptwriter of the “Queen” and directed by Stephen Daldry (known for his work in “Billy Elliot” and “The Hours”).
