The Art-songs & Operatic arias night

Due to the Presidency of Slovakia in the Council of the EU, the Pharos Arts Foundation, with the support of the Embassy of Slovakia and Cyprus-Slovak Business Association, presents the concert of the famous Slovak singers – Stefan Kocan (bass) and Bozena Ferancova (soprano).

The numerous leading roles in the largest opera theatres, including the Met, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Milan’s La Scala signify Stefan Kocan’s phenomenal artistry.

Bozena Ferancova, who is the winner of numerous international competitions, such as Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition, Mozart’s Prague and Voci Verdiani, is also the regular guest soloist at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, the State Opera in Prague and the Janáček National Theatre in Brno.

The concert of the opera singers in Nicosia will be accompanied by the piano player Robert Pachanec. The concert will feature art-songs and operatic arias Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Händel, Dvořák, Boito, Puccini, Rossini & Gershwin, as well as song-cycles by the Slovak composers Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavsky and Eugen Suchoň.
