“Oresteia”

As part of the International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama, the Belgian group “de Roovers” will present Aeschylus’ play “Oresteia” in Paphos and Nicosia.

The trilogy “Oresteia” is the last and biggest work of Aeschylus, which is characterized as “the greatest masterpiece of the human thought”. Three murders, three criminal, their demons, destinies and moral dilemmas form the vicious circle of revenge, which was broken up by the new order. The principle of “an eye for an eye” is replaced by the justice and trial.

The play will be shown with English and Greek subtitles.
