The Rialto Theatre n Limassol continues its broadcast from the The Metropolitan Opera in New York.
On Saturday the 5th of March the visitors of the theatre will be able to watch Pucchini’s “Manon Lescaut“, which is a classical love story about a girl from a village who likes freedom, yet she could not resist the seductions that Paris had to offer.
The couple, which is destined to the tough life, is played by Kristine Opolais and Roberto Alagna. The new play by Sir Richard Eyre, which he made in cooperation with Rob Howell, who previously worked with the director on “Marriage of Figaro”, “Werther” and “Carmen”, takes the viewers back in 1940‘s in France. The conductor of the play will be Fabio Luisi.
The role of the main character’s cousin will be performed by Massimo Cavaletti and Brindley Sheratt will appear as the lover of Manon- the old and rich Geront.
“Manon Lescaut” is the Pucchini’s third opera which marked the beginning of his way to popularity. From the time it was released, it never leaves the repertoires of the Opera theatres.
