“L’Amour de Loin” – The MET: Live in HD

The Rialto theatre in Limassol will host the screening of “L’Amour de Loin” from the New York Metropolitan Opera (Met).

The most intriguing premiere of the season will take place on the 1^st of December.

“L’Amour de Loin” – is the true story about the Joufre Rudel – the troubadour, who live in XII century and who was hopelessly in love with the Countess of Tripoli who he never actually seen, but only heard stories about from the pilgrims and his friend. However he was not destinied to be happy with his loved one: Rudel went on the journey, where he got sick and died in the arms of the Countess.

The composer Kaija Anneli Saariaho from Finland wrote a sensual and almost hypnotic opera for this plot. The opera is in French language.
