Atria Music and Grand International Classical Ballet present! Music by P. Tchaikovsky Choreography by Sergei Bobrov Ballet in 2…
From Tuesday, 26 to 28 September, Thursday, at 20.30
In Limassol, Larnaca and Nicosia there will be concerts of classical music timed to the Independence Day of Cyprus (October 1). The program of the evening includes a concert for pianoforte and orchestra No. 1 (symphony 15) and “Heroic Symphony” (concert for pianoforte and orchestra No. 3, op.55) by Ludwig van Beethoven, performed by the Symphony Orchestra of Cyprus.
The conductor is the founder and music director of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, the conductor of Cypriot origin Marios Papadopoulos.
“… Originally a symphony No. 3 (Es-dur), Op. 55, “Eroica” or “The Heroic Symphony” by Beethoven was written in honor of Napoleon Bonaparte, his fate and heroic activity. But in the future, because of the disappointment in the policy of Napoleon (the acceptance of the title of emperor), Beethoven struck out his name from the score of the symphony, without changing a single note. Musicologist R.Rolan called this symphony “opening a new era in music …”.
