“Electra” – The MET: Live in HD

The Rialto theatre in Limassol carries on the broadcasts from the New-York Metropolitan Opera (Met).

The visitors will see the Strauss’ tragedy “Electra” about the Greek Queen’s lust for revenge, directed by Patrice Sheraut.

Patrice Sheraut is the great French film and theatre director, who passed away in 2013. “Electra” under the common directorship with Met, “La Scala” theatre and Axe-en-Provance festival became his last work. His long-time assistant, director Vincent Yuge, has reconstructed the famous play in New-York.

“Electra”‘ cast is full of true stars. The main role will be performed by Nina Stemm, Klitemnestra- Electra’s mother and target for revenge will be performed by Watraud Maier. Andriana Pechenka will perform the role of Electra’s sister- Chrysofemida. Electra’s brother, Oresta, will be performed by Eric Owens and Burkhard Ulrich will have his debut in the Met by performing the role of the usurper Egist.
