“Anastasia” – The Royal Ballet

The Rialto theatre in Limassol invites for the screening of the ballet “Anastasia” from The Royal Ballet theatre.

The full-length ballet directed by Kenneth MacMillain presents an exploration of one of the biggest mysteries of the 20^th century.

At the peak of the Russian Revolution when  the Royal Family was executed, a young woman appears and presents herself as the surviving princess, the Grand Duchess Anastasia. Also known as Anna Anderson, she does not remember her past and presumably she is an imposter. Many people would like to forget the massacre and revolution, however some hoped that the Duchess was able to survive and thus she save a particle of the old world.

The events which led to the killing of the Royal family, Anna’s confused memories and dreams will come to live accompanied by the music by Tchaikovsky and Martinů.
